Tight access
drilling, Auckland.
Compact equipment and careful planning for sites where conventional access is difficult. Let us assess the route, not just the gate width.
Discuss your projectAccess is more than a single measurement.
Clear width, turning room, slopes, steps, surface support and overhead obstructions all influence rig selection. Working space at the drilling point is just as important as getting the rig to the site.
Choose a setup that suits the site.
We have compact and low-headroom options for suitable projects. Around 1.5 m of clear passage may suit some setups, but all access remains subject to assessment. For steep or especially constrained sites, alternative drilling arrangements may need to be investigated.
What we can include
- Review of the access route and proposed drill location
- Compact rig selection for suitable site conditions
- Low-headroom options where appropriate
- Advice on practical site preparation and sequencing
The final scope and inclusions are set out in your project quote.
Before we quote
Provide the narrowest clear width, available headroom, photos or a video of the full access route, slope information, and dimensions of the working area.
Common questions
Does 1.5 m access guarantee the rig can enter?
No. The route must also provide suitable turning clearance, ground support, slope and headroom, and the work area must accommodate a safe drilling setup.
Can you work on a steep site?
Possibly, but this requires a site-specific assessment. We will discuss feasible equipment and access options before confirming the scope or price.
Tight access, demonstrated.
These site photographs show compact rigs working inside structures, through covered areas and between buildings. They are the reason we ask about the whole access route, overhead clearance and the space at the drilling point.
