Soakage testing
in Auckland.
Measured ground performance to support your stormwater design. Falling-head and constant-head testing, with the scope agreed for your site.
Discuss your projectFind out how your ground performs.
A soakage test measures how water enters the surrounding ground under the test conditions. It gives your civil engineer site-specific information when assessing a proposed stormwater soakage solution. Results depend on the location, geology and test method; nearby results are useful context, not a substitute for testing your site.
A scope that fits your project.
We can combine test bore drilling with soakage testing, or discuss testing at an existing suitable bore. The method, water requirements and testing arrangement are confirmed against your engineer’s brief before work begins.
What we can include
- Review of the proposed test location and site access
- Test bore drilling where included in the agreed quote
- Falling-head or constant-head testing as appropriate to the scope
- Recorded observations and a soakage test report for your engineer
The final scope and inclusions are set out in your project quote.
Before we quote
Send the site plan with the intended test location, any previous geotechnical or soakage reports, and the engineer’s requested test method or scope.
Common questions
Does a good result mean a smaller soakage system?
Your engineer decides the design using the test results together with catchment area, design rainfall and the applicable design criteria. We provide the field information; system sizing remains part of the design assessment.
Is drilling included in the testing price?
That depends on the agreed scope. Your quote will distinguish any new bore drilling from testing and reporting. Existing bore condition and access may affect what is needed.
