Geotechnical
drilling, Auckland.
Machine boreholes and field testing to support a well-informed ground investigation. Working to your geotechnical engineer’s brief.
Discuss your projectUseful ground information starts in the field.
Boreholes help establish subsurface conditions at the investigation locations. We coordinate with your engineer on the planned depth, sampling and in-situ testing requirements so the drilling supports the questions their investigation needs to answer.
A practical drilling partner.
Our work includes machine boreholes and rock drilling, with SPT, Scala and shear vane testing available as part of an agreed investigation scope. Equipment selection depends on site access, ground conditions and the required investigation method.
What we can include
- Machine borehole and rock drilling
- Sampling and borehole observations to the agreed scope
- SPT, Scala and shear vane testing where specified
- Field records and logs as agreed with the project engineer
The final scope and inclusions are set out in your project quote.
Before we quote
Send the geotechnical brief, borehole locations, target depths, sampling and testing requirements, and a site access plan.
Common questions
Do you provide the full geotechnical design report?
Our drilling and field testing support the investigation. The scope of logging and reporting is agreed in the quote; geotechnical interpretation and foundation design should be confirmed with your project engineer.
Can you quote without a drilling location?
A preliminary discussion is possible, but a marked location and access information are needed for a reliable scope and quote, particularly on sloping or restricted sites.
Equipment in the field.
Our field photographs show machine drilling rigs, support equipment and site preparation. The investigation method and testing schedule are agreed with your engineer.
